There are many different types of poker players out there. Do you know what type you are? If you are new to the game you may still be trying to figure out your game. The fact of the matter is that you may start out as one type of poker player, and then over time this could change quite a bit. But not only do you need to know what type of poker player you are, but you also need to know what the other players are the table are made of. Getting in touch with these two areas will give you the best chance for success in the long run. As a newcomer this may be a bit difficult for you, but over time things will start to come together and you will learn what it takes to be a success.

So what type of poker player are you? When it comes down to it there are really two types of players that you can be. First off, you can be an aggressive player who is always on the attack. If you fall into this mold you should try to beat other players by overpowering them at the table. This may seem a bit tough for a newcomer to do, but believe it or not it can actually be a very successful strategy. If you are this type of player make sure that you can keep your emotions in check. Often times, aggressive poker players get themselves in trouble because they attack too much.

The other type of poker player is the passive type. If this sounds like you, you more or less sit back and let the game come to you. To aggressive players this sounds like a stupid strategy, but all in all it can be very successful if you work it to your advantage. Many players who play passively are great at bluffing. They simply sit back and when the time is right they bluff their way to success. Of course it takes a bit of practice to get good at this, but over time you should be able to learn what it takes to be a success.

One thing that you should always remember is that you can change the type of player you are at anytime. If you like playing aggressively but think that you are getting a bit out of control, there is nothing wrong with toning your game down a bit. Remember, it is your game. You should feel free to do whatever you want in order to give yourself the best chance to win every hand that you play.

To go along with your own playing style, you should also become familiar with what other players at the table are doing. For instance, if you come across a super aggressive player you may be able to use this against them. When they get so far out of control you might be able to slip something by them, and in turn win an important hand.

Overall, there are many types of poker players that you must concern yourself with. And the most important player is you. If you learn what type of player you are, you will give yourself a much better chance of winning every hand that you play.
